Nielsen: Backend Engineer

Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer, your main goal is to ensure project success while aligning with business objectives. Collaborating closely with your Scrum and program teams, you’ll develop, test, and implement high-quality software using Agile methodologies. Additionally, mentoring team members to achieve Scrum objectives will be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable, reliable solutions for both Cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Stay updated on current and legacy technologies, adapting architectures as needed.
  • Provide cloud integration support to project teams and resolve technical incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with Data Science to integrate methodologies into engineering pipelines.

Key Technical Skills

  • 0-3 years of hands-on software development with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in .Net (c#, Basic, asp.net), Java, or Python.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Unix/Linux OS, and shell scripting.
  • Understanding of Java/J2EE, Spring boot/cloud frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile scrum development and databases like SQLServer/Oracle.
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipeline deployment and automation.
  • Proficiency in Gitlab/Bitbucket and AWS Programming Certification are advantageous.
  • Ability to quickly grasp vendor-owned CATI technologies.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Quick learner of new technologies.
