- Junior Stenographer: Must have completed 10+2/XII or its equivalent and demonstrate proficiency in stenography as per the prescribed norms set by DOPT.
- Junior Secretariat Assistant (Finance & Accounts/Stores & Purchase): Must have completed 10+2/XII or its equivalent and show proficiency in computer typing speed and usage as per DOPT standards.
- Age Limit (As on September 19, 2024):
- Junior Stenographer: Maximum age of 27 years.
- Junior Secretariat Assistant: Maximum age of 28 years.
- Age Relaxation:
- Up to 5 years for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
- Up to 3 years for OBC – Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) candidates.
- Up to 35 years for widowed, divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands, who have not remarried (up to 40 years for ST candidates).
- 10 years (15 years for ST and 13 years for OBC candidates) for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
- Additional 3 years for Ex-servicemen after deducting the length of military service.

Selection Process:
- For Junior Stenographer Posts:
- The selection will be based on the merit list from a Competitive Written Examination followed by a Proficiency Test in Stenography.
- Only candidates shortlisted by the Selection Committee will undergo these tests.
- Scheme of Competitive Written Examination:
- Mode: OMR or Computer-Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination
- Medium: English and Hindi (except for English-specific questions)
- Standard: 10+2/XII
- Total Questions: 200
- Duration: 2 hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for candidates eligible for a scribe)
- Competitive Written Examination Details:
- A penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
- The examination consists of one paper with three parts:
- Part I: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
- Part II: General Awareness (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
- Part III: English Language & Comprehension (100 Questions, 100 Marks) Â
- Proficiency Test in Stenography:
- Candidates will take one 10-minute dictation in English or Hindi (as chosen in the application) at 80 words per minute for the Junior Stenographer post.
